BASF offers a broad selection of oils, emulsifiers, viscosity enhancers and solvents to equip the formulator to be able to produce a wide range of lotions, creams and gel emulsions. Creams and emulsions are the most diverse and widely used dosage forms for topical dermatological applications.

They are two-phase systems typically containing hydrophilic ingredient in an aqueous phase and lipophilic ingredients in an oil phase. In order for topical emulsions to function effectively they require certain functional excipients.

BASF offers an unparalleled portfolio of excipients for topical formulations enabling you to create the ideal skin delivery solution for your cream or emulsion. We are committed to maintaining the highest level of quality. At the same time, we have focused on improving the mildness of formulations. And by extensively analyzing, refining and enhancing the sensorial effects of each ingredient class, we can help you to create products that increase patient compliance.

Our range of solubilizers and penetration enhancers support effective delivery of the target API — the number-one priority when designing any dermatological product. Lipophilic fluids that can a solubilize lipophilic APIs, b form films on the skin that provide a barrier to water loss, c provide pleasing sensorial cues during and after product application.

Amphiphilic molecules that catalyze and stabilize the homogeneous blending and dispersing of one phase into another e. These are most commonly anionic or non-ionic in nature. Typically waxes or polymers that build colloidal structures, networks or microstructures that increase the viscosity of emulsions thereby improving cream emulsion stability and also allowing the user to effectively transfer the product from the primary package to the location of application.

Both lipophilic and hydrophilic fluids may be used to enhance the solubilization of APIs, prevent crystallization or stabilize crystal habits and polymorphs in topical semi-solid formulations. The delivery of APIs through the stratum corneum and into the skin can be accelerated by a variety of different materials.

The choice of the right material is determined by the physico-chemical characteristics of the API e. A medium spreading emollient with penetration enhancement properties, and a potential solvent for lipophilic solvents.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry

A medium spreading non-ester emollient which is stable against acid and base hydrolysis and provides good skin penetration.

A non-ionic emulsifier with good sensory properties; stable with acidic, basic and ionic excipients. A self-emulsifying mixture of emulsifier and consistency factors for simplified preparation of skin cream base. A polymeric multi-talent suitable for a large variety of applications, i. It is commonly also used as viscosity regulator for oil-in-water emulsions and as a pH independent sustained release agent. It hardens suppository formulations and adjust their melting points.

Pharmaceutical and medical chemistry. Modern Inorganic Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Practical Pharmaceutical Chemistry, 4th edn. This text is a contributive volume with 13 chapters by 13 different authors. A detailed examination of the book supports this contention. The introductory chapter introduces the concept of quality control and sampling; in addition, the subjects of mass and volume determination and laboratory techniques which are usually treated in a first course in analysis are reviewed.

Although the calculation of titration curve points and titration of mixtures is treated very well, some twenty pages are used t o review equilibria topics which should be familiar t o students at this level or at least they can review on their own. The chapter dealing with precipitation, complex formation, and oxidation-reduction methods is an extensive consideration of the very numerous analyses of this type with some theoretical comment.

Similarly, the chapter on acidimetry and alkalimetry deals with rudimentary analytical topics, e. This type of material would be better presented in a reference rather than a textbook. Nonaqueous titrimetry is presented a t too practical a level without use of topics such as glacial acetic acid equilibria.

The chapter on complexometry is good, but rigorous calculations involving complex equilibria are not adequately developed.

Although the chapter on alkaloidal assay is interesting, it fails, e.

However, the use of tables to summarize the many analytical methods is excellent. The miscellaneous methods chapter is very good in its treatment of topics such as the Karl Fischer titration, gas analysis, and nitrosation. Likewise, the section on ion-exchange separations is very well done. Enough theory is presented to permit the student to make simple calculations describing column behavior. Column, thin-layer, and paper chromatography are treated well in a single chapter but certain organizational lapses are disturbing, viz.

Still trying to figure out why a service technician only comes out this way 2 days a week. I contacted DIRECTV and bank did as well. At same time need box fix they turned off cable. Every time I called I was spoke with rudely and they just was rude so I borrowed money to pay 103.

They informed me 279 more needed to be paid. Helpful Be the first one to find this review helpful Robert of Beavercreek, OH Verified Reviewer Original review: Nov. DIRECTV needs to get it together. Long story short I did. I said, "Where do come up with a figure like that". Then they said I signed a contract in which they failed to inform Me. I said, "You folks are out of your mind". I have told them I have a P. Never again for DIRECTV. Helpful 4 people found this review helpful Elisha of Battle Ground, WA Verified Reviewer Original review: Nov.

I recently had my services reconnected after being suspended for a month for non payment. I was in touch and on a payment plan with DirecTV and was able to get it turned on after months of going back and forth for charges that were incorrect. On November 24th I was undecided if I was going to go back to DirecTV after all the issues and everyone passing me on to different departments each time I called, without anything ever being taken care of.

I paid my bill, accepted offer after being on the phone for 3 hours, transferred to every department and finally feeling like someone had listened to me and made it right. Unfortunately, after paying and going through all of that my service was not restored and I kept getting an 701 error. I called back that evening and the tech department placed a ticket and said they would have someone get back to me because they were unable to fix after going through all the normal troubleshooting.

Again, another hour on the phone and nothing fixed. I did not hear back from them, instead I had to call back the next morning November 25th.

The agent who I spoke with was super nice and corrected the issue. Apparently the person who reconnected my service did not reconnect the HD so it would not connect. I literally had to hang up. The person who promised me this her name was Tajma and I requested for a manager to contact me. At this point in time, do not trust or believe that DirecTV will take care of your needs or do anything they promise to do.

I am so frustrated and feel completely disregarded. I feel like I was told a bunch of crap to come back and then as soon as I did everything that was promised just went away.
